The green film on UPVC is algae, and it doesn't come off with a hosepipe. It needs a proper soft-wash solution, dwell time and agitation — which is why a quick blast with a pressure washer leaves it streaky and puts water behind the boards.

We clean the fascias, the soffits underneath, the bargeboards at the gable ends, and the outside faces of the gutters and downpipes, which are usually the dirtiest part and the bit most people forget.

How we do it

  1. 01

    Soft wash applied

    A dedicated UPVC solution, left to dwell rather than blasted straight off. It lifts algae and traffic film without scouring the plastic.

  2. 02

    Agitate and rinse

    Brushed where it needs it, then rinsed with clean water so nothing dries back as a streak.

  3. 03

    Do the gutters too

    The outside of the guttering is usually filthy. Cleaning the fascia and leaving the gutter face dirty looks worse than leaving both.

  4. 04

    Check underneath

    Soffits get cobwebs, nests and wasps. They get cleared while we're there.

Will it come back white?
On sound UPVC, yes — near enough. What won't come back is plastic that's oxidised, which is a chalky fade rather than a green film. We'll tell you which yours is before you book, not after.
Is this cheaper with a gutter clean?
Considerably. We're already set up outside with the same access, so the extra cost is labour rather than a fresh visit. Most people book the two together for that reason.
Does it damage the seals or the paint?
No. The solution is made for UPVC and applied at low pressure. We don't use a pressure washer on fascias — that's what drives water behind the boards and into the roof space.

Pole-mounted vacuum worked from the ground wherever it will reach, with a camera on the head so the run is inspected before and after. Downpipes and hoppers flow-tested, debris bagged and left tidy.
